AIM and SCOPE

Pamukkale University Journal of Engineering Sciences is a multidisciplinary journal that includes fundamental engineering areas. It aims at disseminating recent advances in engineering and science to researchers, engineers and related readers. Pamukkale University Journal of Engineering Sciences, in which both theoretical and experimental engineering studies take place, encourages the publication of the articles from challenging areas of engineering and concentrates on the publication of the interdisciplinary studies.

HISTORY

Pamukkale University Journal of Engineering Sciences was first started to publish in 1995 under the name of “Journal of Engineering Sciences” (ISSN: 1300-7009). In 2009, name of the journal was changed as "Pamukkale University Journal of Engineering Sciences" which is still used. The journal was published 3 printed issues per year until 2013 and after 2013 this value is increased to 6 online issues per year as e-Journal (ISSN: 2147-5881). In 2014, the publication schedule was updated again to provide subject consistency and started to publish 7 issues per year.

CURRENT PUBLICATION SCHEDULE

Pamukkale University Journal of Engineering Sciences is published as 7 issues per year. These issues are published in February, April, June, August, October, November and December, taking into account the acceptance date.

In addition to these issues, additional special issues can be optionally published in December with the decision of Editorial Board.

PEER-REVIEW POLICY

All the research articles are reviewed at least 3 reviewers. During this evaluation, Pamukkale University Journal of Engineering Sciences prefers to follow the “Double-Blind Review” which means both the reviewers and authors cannot see their information on the manuscript file. After completing review process, final decision is given by the Editor-in-Chief or the Vice Editor-in-Chiefs by considering the comments of the reviewers and the Section Editors.

OPEN ACCESS POLICY

Pamukkale University Journal of Engineering Sciences provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

PRICING POLICY

After completing the review process, all the accepted manuscripts are published online without requiring any manuscript submission and/or processing charges.

MANUSCRIPT TYPES

Pamukkale University Journal of Engineering Sciences accepts the original “Research Articles” and “Reviews” in both Turkish and English.

Reviews

Reviews, which will be published in Pamukkale University Journal of Engineering Sciences (PAJES), have to be written in English. The lower and upper limits of the words (including Figures and Table contents) in Reviews should be between 7500 - 20000 except for references. Reviews should have at least 80 references, and at least 40 % of the references should be published within the last seven years (from the date of publication of the article). The limit values of similarity in Reviews will be applied as 30% for the whole article and 5% on sentence basis (singular).

Special Issue

All articles that will be published in “SPECIAL ISSUE” by Pamukkale University Journal of Engineering Sciences (PAJES) by 2020 will have 100% English language.

PUBLICATION ETHICS AND MALPRACTICE STATEMENT

As a officially registered member of the “Commitee on Publication Ethics (COPE)”, Pamukkale University Journal of Engineering Sciences accepts only the original works which means the submission should be the product of a new solution approach or should provide a new viewpoint to an existing information. A submitted work must not be published in any other journal in any language and must not be under evaluation in any platform. All the works should be prepared by considering the general ethical guidelines provided by the COPE. Depending on COPE’s recommendations and general publication requirements, Authors, Peer Reviewers, and Editors must adhere to the international standards given HERE.

CONFLICTS-OF-INTEREST STATEMENT

Authors

According to general publication policy of the Pamukkale University Journal of Engineering Sciences, only the researchers who contributed to the work in a real sense should be considered as an author. Authors should be responsible to disclose all the personal and financial relationships which might bias their work. Financial relationships such as employment, consultancies, stock ownership, honoraria, paid expert testimony can be classified as the most easily identifiable conflicts-of-interest and the most likely to undermine the credibility of the journal. To clarify conflicts-of-interest issue, authors must submit a letter to the editorial office accompanying the submitted manuscript and explicitly state if any potential conflicts exist or not.

Peer Reviewers

Peer Reviewers should be responsible to decline the review process if any substantial conflicts-of-interest exists. In case of any doubt, they should consult to the Editor to decide regarding the review process. Researchers from authors' institutions should not be considered as peer reviewers to prevent any conflicts-of-interest.

Editors

Editors should be responsible to manage the review process and have the right of declining any submission in case of any conflict-of-interest. They should not have any direct personal and/or financial conflicts with their assigned manuscripts. They should not be assigned to manuscripts if they are in the author list of them.

PLAGIARISM CONTROL

As of January 2015, all the submitted articles is evaluated by using the IThenticate® plagiarism detection software. After evaluating the generated similarity report, the editorial board decides to proceed the submission to the review or directly decline it.

COMPLAINTS POLICY

Complaints regarding any published materials will only be accepted within 12 months from the first publication date. In case of any complaint, the authors are required to submit their complaints along with their reasons to the editorial office via e-mail.

COPYRIGHT TRANSFER

All the submitted works for publication must be transferred to Pamukkale University Journal of Engineering Sciences during the article submission. In this context, Copyright Transfer Form  signed by authors must be submitted with the article.

DOI INFORMATION

Each accepted work on the Pamukkale University Journal of Engineering Sciences gets a Digital Object Identifier (DOI) number.
